The 9th triennial Workshop on the Ecology, Status, and Conservation of the Diamondback Terrapin was held in Athens, GA October 28-30, 2022. Approximately 60 participants attended to hear 39 presentations by state and federal biologists, members of NGOs, and academic researchers including more than 20 graduate and undergraduate students. Representatives from every state in the terrapin range except Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Louisiana were present, many having traveled great distances to be part of this important event. Participants were feuled by a steady dose of local Athens food and kept happy with a generous supply of Terrapin Brewing Co. beers. Though not located by the coast, more than 20 participants attended the last day field trip to the Terrapin Brewing Co. facility in Athens where they received a tour and swag. We look forward to the next meeting in the Mid Atlantic region in 2025.
