Students recognized for outstanding presentations at the 9th triennial Workshop


More than twenty students presented research on terrapin ecology and conservation as part of the 9th Workshop in Athens, GA. Four students were recognized by anonymous judges for outstanding oral and poster presentations.


2022 Outstanding Oral Presentation was awarded to Brett Wilson, a Ph.D. student at the University of North Carolina Wilmington for his presentation "Diamond-backed Terrapin Bycatch Reduction and Management in the North Carolina Blue Crab Fishery."


2022 Honorable Mention Oral Presentation was awarded to Danielle Bradke, a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Georgia for her presentation "Evaluating and Improving Diamondback Terrapin Monitoring in Georgia."


2022 Outstanding Poster Presentation was awarded to Jasmine Pierre, a masters student at the University of North Carolina Wilmington for her presentation "Osmotic Status of Diamond-backed Terrapins (Malaclemys terrapin) under Natural Conditions."


2022 Honorable Mention Poster Presentation was awarded to C. Dare Scott, a undergraduate Fisheries and Wildlife major at the University of Georgia for their presentation "Analysis of Nesting Statistics of Diamond-backed Terrapins on Skidaway Island, Georgia."
